Design Goal

To create a clear and compelling narrative that helps viewers understand the scale and impact of the migration and financial implications of the 2022 Russia-Ukraine war. This involves using data visualization techniques to highlight patterns and trends in migration flows, as well as demonstrating how financial resources have been mobilized and allocated by different actors related to the conflict.

By providing a comprehensive and accessible overview of these complex issues, the project seeks to help raise awareness about the human costs of war and contribute to more informed policy discussions and decision-making.

Target Audience

The interface containing the visualization is targeted towards researchers, policymakers, journalists, and individuals interested in understanding the migration patterns and financial impact of the 2022 Russia-Ukraine war.

WHY RUSSIA?

In the absence of a reliable evacuation corridor to Ukrainian-held territory, going to Russia was the only option for many people in Mariupol at that time.
